Un regalo del cielo (II)/ A gift from Heaven (part II)

Queridos amigos de cruzypunto.com,

hoy os enseño la segunda parte del regalo que le hice a mi amiga Nuria. Hace algún tiempo ella se quedó prendada de un babero de ganchillo que hice a ganchillo con hilo de perlé, así que decidí regalarle uno para su bebé junto con la toquilla.

today I’ll show you the second part of the present I gave my friend Nuria. Some years ago, she was mesmerized by a crochet baby bib that I made using a perle thread, so I decided to give her one for her baby boy in addition to the baby shawl.

Su gusto es muy clásico, así que adapté un diseño que había visto en Pinterest, empleando un color azul celeste muy claro y otro blanco.

She likes classic patterns, so I adapted a design I had seen in Pinterest, but this time using a light blue-sky shade and a white shade.

Empezamos tejiendo el rectágulo central, lo rematamos y seguimos con la parte lateral que unimos al centro.

We begin by crocheting the central rectangle part, we finish it and then we continue by knitting the sides. We’ll join them to the rectangle.

Seguimos tejiendo, alternando el color celeste y el blanco en las vueltas caladas.

We continue by crocheting, alternating the blue-sky and the white shades in the lace rows.

Terminamos con un borde sencillo, lo planchamos y le ponemos una cinta de raso azul, que servirá para sujetarlo al cuello del bebé.

We finish it by adding a simple lace edge, we iron it and we put a blue satin ribbon to tie it to the baby’s neck.

¡No puedo esperar a vérselo puesto! Espero que cuando nazca, Nuria me envíe una foto del bebé con la toquilla y el babero.

Can’t wait to see him wearing it! I hope that when the baby is born, Nuria will send me a photo of him wearing the shawl and the bib…

Como os adelantaba la semana pasada el post de hoy versa sobre bebés. Los que me conocéis sabéis que tengo la sana costumbre de regalar algo hecho a mano por mi a mis amigas que van a tener un bebé. Pues bien, mi amiga Nuria va a ser mamá de un niño en el próximo mes de Diciembre y acaba de ser su cumpleaños, así que conseguí acabar mi regalo justo a tiempo para dárselo en esta fecha. ¿Qué le he regalado? pues una toquilla para envolver y proteger bien al bebé cuando nazca en pleno invierno.

As I told you in advance last week, today’s post is about babies. Those of you who know me best also know that I have the healthy habit of giving something handcrafted by me to my friends who are expecting. Well, my friend Nuria is going to have a baby boy next December, and it was her birthday recently. So I managed to do my present just in time for her party. What have I given her? A gorgeous baby shawl to wrap up warm the baby and to protect him from the winter cold when he’s born.

Empezamos a tejer con lana Katia Baby Merino en color azul celeste y hacemos un punto muy tupido para que el bebé esté bien abrigadito.

We begin to knit with Katia Baby Merino wool in a soft blue shade using a very thick knit, so that the baby will be well wrapped up.

Continuamos tejiendo hasta formar un cuadrado de unos 75 por 75 cm.

We continue knitting until we have a square of 75 x 75 cm long.

Y a continuación seguimos tejiendo la puntilla. La empezamos haciendo un entredós por el que luego pasaremos una cinta de raso; luego tejemos un dibujo calado para finalizar con unas ondas.

Then, we go on knitting the lace edging. We begin by making an insertion that will serve to embellish the baby shawl by passing a satin ribbon through it. Next we knit a light pattern to finish with some ripples.

Terminamos pasando la cinta y haciendo un lazo.

We finish by passing the ribbon and making a bow.

Ayer fue el cumpleaños de una gran amiga y madre de mi único ahijado. Ella vive en las Islas Canarias y le encantan todos los motivos marineros. Cuando vio la colaboración que hice para la revista «Labores del Hogar» este verano, se quedó alucinada. Por eso decidí hacerle este regalo tan especial.

Yesterday was my bosom friend’s birthday. She’s my godson’s mother and she lives in the Canary Islands. She’s very fond of marine stuff. Last summer, when she saw the contribution I made for «Labores del Hogar» magazine, she was amazed. So I decided to sew this special present.

Con varios motivos marineros del libro «Bord de mer au point de croix» http://www.casacenina.es/catalog/images/img_148/bord-de-mer-point-de-croix-marabout.jpg«, hice una composición bordada sobre lino azul. Las banderas naúticas representan las letras del alfabeto y las utilicé para que pusieran el nombre de mi amiga. Así el regalo quedó totalmente personalizado.

With some marine items from the book «Bor de mer au point de croix» http://www.casacenina.es/catalog/images/img_148/bord-de-mer-point-de-croix-marabout.jpg» I made an embridered composition usin blue linen. The nautical flags represent each alphatbet letter and I used them to write my friend’s name. The present was completely personalized then.

Cuando me dijo los nombres de los niños, Candela y Mateo, yo le pregunté si quería algún motivo especial, y me comentó: » los padres son blogueros, como tú» así que elegimos unos motivos inspirados en los blogs de los padres.

today I’m going to show you the last challenge that someone proposed me. I’d love to do it. My friend Marta asked me to sew two bibs for a pair of twins. They are the newborn children of some friends of her. When she told me the kid’s names, Candela and Mateo, I asked her if she wanted a special pattern. She commented to me:»both parents are bloggers, like you are». So we decided to create some patterns inspired by their blogs.

La semana pasada os tuve un poco abandonados, y es que he estado dedicada a diseñar un proyecto en punto de cruz para una revista. Si todo va bien, verá la luz en verano y a través del blog os contaré cómo se hizo.

Last week, I had you a little bit abandoned. I was entirely dedicated to design a cross stitch project for a magazine. If it goes ok, it’ll be published during the summer and I’ll tell you about the «making off» through the blog.

Pero hoy os enseño el comienzo de un nuevo proyecto que estoy haciendo para mi. Todo comenzó en Navidad, cuando en uno de mis regalos apareció esta preciosa tarjeta…

But today I want to show you the beggining of a new project I’m stitching for myself. All began last Christmas, when this awesome card appeared within one of my presents…

¡Adoro los petirrojos! He leído en alguna parte (corregidme seguidores británicos si estoy equivocada) que en fue durante la época victoriana en Gran Bretaña, cuando empezó la tradición de enviar tarjetas para felicitar la Navidad. Las figuras que aparecían decorando estas tarjetas casi siempre eran petirrojos. Esta tradición llega hasta nuestros días, aunque ya no siempre aparecen estos simpáticos pájaros. Gracias al programa PC Stitch, del que ya os he hablado en alguna ocasión, pude transformar la tarjeta en gráfico para punto de cruz…

I really adore robins! I’ve read somewhere (please britsh followers correct me if I’m wrong) that the tradition of sending Christmas cards began during the Victorian era in Great Britain. Usually, the figures that appeared in the cards were robins. This tradition has lasted till now, though we rarely see the sweet robins in our Christmas cards. Thanks to PC Stitch computer program, I was able to transform the card into a cross stitch pattern…

GORRO ESTILO POCOYÓ/ POCOYO’S STYLE HAT

From the makers of «Pablito’s Blanket»…here comes now the baby hat in Pocoyó’s style. Doesn’t it sound good?…Today my proposal is an original and beautiful baby hat. I crocheted it for Pablo with the leftover yarn from his awesome blanket. You can find the free pattern in Drops Design website. Y empezamos a tejer en círculo, siguiendo las instrucciones del patrón que son muy fáciles. El gorro lleva franjas en azul y marrón claro.

So we begin to crochet it in a circle shape, following the pattern instructions which are really easy. The hat is made with blue and light brown stripes.

Cuando llegamos al largo deseado, empezamos a tejer las orejeras y a continuación le hacemos un borde en color tostado, a modo de remate.

Once we have reached the desired lenght, we begin to crochet the earflaps. Next we knit the edge in light brown to embelish the hat.

A continuación, con la misma lana marrón y a la vez que se está tejiendo el borde, se realizan las cintas que servirán para atar el gorrito a la cabeza del bebé y…¡aquí está!

Then we knit the ribbons that will serve to tie the hat to the baby’s head. They have been crocheted with the same light brown yarn and at the same time that we are doing the edge. And …voilá!

Manta de ondas en tonos azules/ Blue Palette Ripple blanket

It has been very cold during last weeks, so it was the perfect occasion to use for the first time the blanket I made for my cottage. Do you remember the one I crocheted last year? It was for my couch at home. I got inspired by Lucy’s blog: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/ripple-blanket-know-how.html.

Pero esta vez, elegí la gama de tonos azules y grises. Me decanté por lana de la marca Drops Big Delight Color 12 en tonos azules y grises degradados, y Drops Nepal color 0500 en beige grisaceo. Esta marca está muy bien de precio y no es acrílica, por lo que resulta ¡realmente calentita!. Alternando dos vueltas de la primera lana y una de la segunda queda realmente original.

But this time, I chose they blue and grey pallete. I took Drops wool brand in its varieties Drops Big Delight number 12 in faded blue and grey colours, and Drops Nepal number 0500 in greyish beige tone. This brand has a really good price and it’s not acrylic, so it is quite warm! I crocheted it alternating two rows of the first wool and one row of the second one, and it turns out to be quite original.

Me encanta tejer este tipo de mantas en invierno, es realmente relajante porque el patrón es muy sencillo, y a la vez que la labor avanza, te vas envolviendo con ella. Las medidas de la manta una vez acabada son: 1.35 cm de ancho por 1.70 cm de largo aproximadamente. Ha quedado así de bonita:

I love to crochet this kind of blankets during winter, it’s really relaxing because the pattern is so simple, and at by the time the project goes further, you’re getting wrapped with it. Once it’s finished, the measures of the blanket are: 1.35 cm wide and 1.70 cm long, approximately. This is the gorgeous result:

Es ideal para tenerla a mano en el sofá o envolverte con ella si hace mucho frío…incluso hay quien se queda dormido abrigado con ella….

It’s ideal to have it close at hand in the sofa or to wrap yourself with it in case it’s freezing…what’s more, somebody fell asleep tucked with it…

La manta de Pablito/Pablito’s blanket

Como ya os he contado muchas veces, una de las cosas que más me gustan es hacer algo para un bebé. Más aún si este bebé es tan esperado como Pablo, el futuro bebé de mi amiga Cristina. Con Cristina siempre he tenido una conexión muy especial: compartimos muchas aficiones y para mi, ella es como la hermana pequeña que nunca tuve. Por eso, quería hacer algo muy especial para su bebé y como faltan pocas semanas para que nazca, os presento la manta que he realizado para él.

As I’ve told you many times, one of my favourite things is to create something for a baby. And much more if the baby has been so expected as Pablo is, my friend’s Cristina future newborn baby. I’ve always had a special conexion with her: we share lots of hobbies and to me she is like the little sister i’ve never had. That’s the reason why I wanted to make something very special for her baby. There are only few weeks for the baby’s birth, so here I present to you the blanket I’ve crocheted for him.

Primeros pasos: elegir la lana y el patrón. Cristina eligió los colores y nada mejor para abrigar al bebé y que a la vez resulte suave, que la lana Baby Merino de Drops. Para el patrón me inspiré en la manta de bebé tejida en punto de concha de http://thestitchinmommy.com/, aunque modifiqué el borde.

First steps: to choose the wool and the pattern. Cristina chose the colours and there’s nothing better to wrap a baby and soft at the same time, than Baby Merino Drops wool. I got inspiration for the pattern from the shell stitch baby blanket at http://thestitchinmommy.com/, though I made a little modification in the edge.

Y ahora a ganchillar! hasta alcanzar el tamaño deseado. En este caso para una manta de cuna entre 80/90 cm de ancho y 1 m de largo. Hacemos el borde con 2 o 3 vueltas de punto bajo en los colores de la manta. Aquí está el resultado:

And now, let’s crochet! until you reach the desired size. In this case for a cradle’s blanket the size should be between 80/90 cm wide and one meter long. We knit the edge with 2 or 3 single crochet stitch rows. Here is the result:

Por último, la empaquetamos en una caja de cartón, le ponemos una cinta y nuestra etiqueta, para que quede muy elegante, y la entregamos a su destinataria…

In the end, we pack it in a box, we tie it with a ribbon and our label, to make a really smart parcel, and we deliver it to the recipient…

El ataque de los corazones/Heart’s attack

¡Hola a todos! ¡Menudos días de frío que estamos pasando! y que mejor para combatir el frío que caldear un poco el ambiente…Además, por si no os acordáis, aunque lo dudo con el bombardeo publicitario que tenemos, os recuerdo que quedan ocho días para San Valentín, por lo que mi post de hoy va de corazones a ganchillo.

Hello everybody! What a chilly day we are having! to fight against the cold there´s nothing better than a warm atmosphere…Also, just in case you don’t remember, though I doubt it with the advertising bombardment we are suffering, I remind you that we have only eight days to Valentine’s Day, so my today’s post is about crocheted hearts.

He encontrado inspiración en www.lanasyovillos.com y en chuculetaconraton.blogspot.com.es/ para realizar estos corazones con lana que me sobró de otros proyectos.

I’ve found my inspiration in two websites, www.lanasyovillos.com and chuculetaconraton.blogspot.com.es/, to make this crocheted hearts with leftover wool from other projects.

Con esta lana roja brillante que me sobro de unas bolas de Navidad, he tejido este corazón blandito estilo amigurumi. También lo he hecho en verde y adornado con un botón. Aquí lo veis colgado de mi estantería junto a un clásico de San Valentín «El Diario de Bridget Jones».

I’ve crocheted this soft heart in amigurumi style with a bright red leftover wool from some Christmas balls. I’ve also make it with green wool and I’ve embellished it with a button. Here you can see it hanging from my bookshelf and next to a Valentine’s classic: «Bridget Jones Diary».

Aquí tenéis otro modelo más original realizado en dos texturas diferentes. Lo podéis adornar con cintas o botones. Queda muy bonito y se puede utilizar por ejemplo, para adornar tu bolso.

Here you can see another original pattern crocheted into two different textures. You can garnish it with ribbons or buttons. It’s lovely and you can use it, for example, to hang it in your handbag.

¿Os gustan? son muy fáciles y rápidos de hacer. Un detalle hecho por vosotros mismos para San Valentín…o para cualquier época del año, pero siempre hecho con mucho amor.

Do you like them? They are so easy and quick to do! A great detail done by yourselves for Valentine’s Day…or any time during the year, but always done with lots of love.

BAÑERAS/BATHS

Hello everybody,

Esta semana escribo con un poco de retraso y algo de cansancio, pues tengo a mi tía ingresada en el hospital. Espero que se recupere muy pronto y desde aquí le mando un beso muy fuerte.

This week I write with a little delay and some tiredness, because my auntie is in hospital. I hope she will soon be recovered and I send her a huge kiss.

Mi amiga Ana me pidió que le hiciera algo en punto de cruz en tonos verdes y azules para decorar su baño, y me decidí por estos dos clásicos diseños de bañeras que os hoy os muestro. Pertenecen a una serie de 6 bañeras antiguas con diferentes colores. Os adjunto también los gráficos.
