Queridos amigos,

hoy en esta primera publicación del año, lo primero es desearos que tengáis un maravilloso año 2016 y que se cumpla todo aquello que deseáis. También os doy las gracias por seguir mi modesto blog semana tras semana y por vuestros comentarios. ¿Habéis hecho ya vuestra lista de propósitos para el nuevo año?

Today in the first post of this new year, I want to wish you all a wonderful 2016 in which all your dreams will come true. I also thank you for following this humble blog week by week and your comments. Have you already done your New Year’s Resolution list?

Además, esta noche en España llegan los Reyes Magos cargados de regalos y es un día de mucha ilusión para niños… y no tan niños. He de confesar que todavía me emociono en tardes como ésta, tan solo con ver la cara de alegría de muchos niños que esperan ver a los Magos de Oriente en la Cabalgata.

Moreover, this is a magical afternoon here in Spain, because the Wise Men are coming with their presents. It’s a great day full of enthusiasm for children and not so young ones. I must confess that I’m still quite moved these days, just only looking at children happy faces waiting for the Wise Men coming in the parade.

Por ello, como es un día para recibir y regalar, y cerrando el capítulo navideño, os muestro algunos «detallitos» realizados a ganchillo que he ido regalando estos días a amigos y familia. Arboles de Navidad y copos de nieve inspirados desde Pinterest, y utilizando cuentas para collares.

Therefore, as today is a day to give and to receive, and concluding the Christmas chapter, I’ll show you some small crocheted presents that I have been giving during last days to family and friends. Hola amigos, ¿sabéis que solo falta una semana para Navidad?  Como dice la canción, «Tú eres todo lo que yo quiero en Navidad».www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_tKgW3hiag (Me encanta «Love Actually»)

Es tiempo de reunirse con la familia y visitar a los amigos, de estar con aquellos que son importantes para ti aunque haga tiempo que no les veas.

Una de las cosas que siempre preparo con antelación son las tarjetas navideñas. Me gusta enviarlas a mis amigos en Navidad, porque para mi esta fecha tiene un significado especial. Si el año pasado mi inspiración fueron los belenes, este lo han sido los ratones y el árbol de Navidad, gracias a Pinterest.

It’s time to meet family and visit friends. It’s time to join those who are important for you though you haven’t seen them in years.

One of the things I usually prepare in advance are Christmas Cards. I love to send them to my friends during Christmas time, because this time has a very special meaning for me. Last year my inspiration was the Nativity scenes but this one it has been mice and Christmas trees, and I’m very grateful to Pinterest.

TIEMPO DE ADVIENTO/ ADVENT TIME

El tiempo cada vez pasa más rápido para mi. ¿Os sucede lo mismo a vosotros? Sí, es increíble, pero ya estamos otra vez en Adviento, la antesala de la Navidad.

Hace justo un año me encargaron unos corazones a punto de cruz, para decorar una corona de Adviento, para el número de Navidad de 2015 de la Revista Labores del Hogar. Algunos meses después me devolvieron los corazones…

Time goes by more quickly for me.Does it happen the same to you? Yes, it’s incredible, but we are in Advent, the prelude to Christmas.

One year ago, the Spanish magazine «Labores del Hogar» ordered me to sew some cross stitched hearts to decorate an Advent Wreath. They were for the 2015th Christmas special number. Some months after, they sent my hearts back…

y tuve una idea paseando por el campo…hacer una corona con juncos y poner en ella los corazones, para tener mi propia corona de Adviento, totalmente artesanal.

and I had an idea while I was strolling through the forest…I could make a bulrushed wreath and tie the hearts to it. I’m gonna build my own completely handcrafted Advent wreath!

Primer paso: recoger los juncos (con la ayuda de mi hija)

¿habéis observado que los días empiezan a ser más cortos, que empiezan a caerse las hojas de los árboles y que la luz tiene un color diferente? Sí, ya es otoño y os a voy a mostrar cómo lo diseñé y realicé para una nueva colaboración con la revista «Labores del Hogar».

have you noticed that days are shorter, that leaves are begining to fall from the trees and light has a different colour? Yes, you’re right. Auttumm’s here and I’m going to show you how I designed and created it for a new publication in «Labores del Hogar» magazine.

La idea que me propusieron fue hacer un conjunto para office compuesto por un mantel, una cortina, unos letreros para diferentes clases de pan y unas banderitas con setas para decorar una quiche. Aquí están las fotos del proceso de creación:

The magazine proposed me creating a table set to enhance a kitchen corner and some food plates, including a table cloth, a blind, some cards for different bread types and some little flags to decorate a quiche. Here you can see the creative process:

Trabajos de verano/ Summer works

Hola a todos,

después de varias semanas sin escribir, con vicisitudes varias, parece que poco a poco vamos recuperando la normalidad en casa. Esto hace que ya me sienta con ganas y tiempo para contaros todo lo que he podido crear este verano.

Hello everybody,

after several weeks without being able to write mi blog due to various circumstances, it seems that little by liittle we are returning to normality at home. This makes me feel confident enough to tell you about the projects I created last summer.

Después de acabar los cojines que os enseñé en mi última entrada, me apetecía realizar algo más pequeño y sencillo, que no llevara más de un par de horas para terminarlo. Así que pensé en hacer un sencillo neceser a ganchillo para mi hija pequeña, partiendo de un cuadrado con forma de flor que encontré en el libro «200 Labores de Ganchillo» y empleando lana sobrante.

After finishing the cushions I showed you in my last post, I wanted to knit something smaller and simple. Something that didn’t take more than 2 hours to finish. So, I thought about crocheting a small vanity case for my little daughter, beginning with a flower square that I found in the book «200 Crochet works». I used leftover yarn.

Repetí el mismo cuadrado pero cambiando los colores para la parte de atrás del neceser. Luego fui completando con vueltas de punto alto hasta llegar a la longitud deseada.

I repeated the same square for the vanity’s case back but I changed the colours. I continued knitting the bag with trebble crochet until I reached the desired lenght.

Solo faltaba unirlo por los lados, coser un botón y hacer una presilla para cerrar la bolsa. Y este es el resultado! Como dice mi hija…supercuqui!!!

To finish it, I joined both sides, I sewed a button and I made a fastener to close the bag. And this is the result! As my daughter says «supercuqui»!!

Hemos decidido ponerlo encima de un pequeño escritorio rústico que tenemos en la casa del pueblo. Creo que queda perfecto.

We decided to hang it over a rustic desk that we have in our cottage. I think it’s perfect!

Patucos para mayores/ Adult bootees

¡Buenos días a todos!

continuando con mi serie invernal hoy os propongo unos patucos confeccionados a ganchillo, muy fáciles de hacer.Los encontré en esta revista de «Cuadrados de Ganchillo» de ediciones Drac, la misma que utilicé para hacer la manta de mi sofá el pasado verano. ¿os acordáis?

Continuing with my winter series, today I propose to you these crocheted adult bootees, very easy to do. I found them in this magazine «Granny Squares» from Drac, the same publication  I used to make my last summer couch blanket. Do you remember it?

Para cada patuco empleamos 6 cuadrados básicos y los unimos según esta disposición. Pueden ser lisos o podeis hacerlos a rayas de colores. Los míos son lisos porque he utilizado lana sobrante.

We use 6 basic granny squares for each bootee and we join them as shown. You can crochet your grannies in a single colour or striped. My grannies are made in a single colour as I’ve used leftover yarn.

A continuación, tenemos que unir todos los cuadrados siguiendo este esquema y realizar un borde exterior con tres vueltas para cerrar el patuco.

Next, we have to join and sew all the grannies following this pattern. Then we will crochet a three row external edge to close the bootee.

¡Y ya están listos para usar! Así nunca se os quedarán los pies fríos…y qué mejor momento para estrenarlos, que viendo la final de la Copa de la Reina de Basket 2015 y en el descanso el reportaje sobre la Selección Española Femenina de basket, actuales subcampeonas del Mundo. ¡Mis dos aficiones juntas!

And here you are ready to use them! You’ll never have your feet cold again. And what a better moment to use for the first time than watching the final basketball match of 2015 Queen’s Cup and during the break, the special coverage about our Female Basketball Team, the present World’s Cup runner-up.  I have my two hobbies toghether!

El ataque de los corazones/Heart’s attack

¡Hola a todos! ¡Menudos días de frío que estamos pasando! y que mejor para combatir el frío que caldear un poco el ambiente…Además, por si no os acordáis, aunque lo dudo con el bombardeo publicitario que tenemos, os recuerdo que quedan ocho días para San Valentín, por lo que mi post de hoy va de corazones a ganchillo.

Hello everybody! What a chilly day we are having! to fight against the cold there´s nothing better than a warm atmosphere…Also, just in case you don’t remember, though I doubt it with the advertising bombardment we are suffering, I remind you that we have only eight days to Valentine’s Day, so my today’s post is about crocheted hearts.

He encontrado inspiración en www.lanasyovillos.com y en chuculetaconraton.blogspot.com.es/ para realizar estos corazones con lana que me sobró de otros proyectos.

I’ve found my inspiration in two websites, www.lanasyovillos.com and chuculetaconraton.blogspot.com.es/, to make this crocheted hearts with leftover wool from other projects.

Con esta lana roja brillante que me sobro de unas bolas de Navidad, he tejido este corazón blandito estilo amigurumi. También lo he hecho en verde y adornado con un botón. Aquí lo veis colgado de mi estantería junto a un clásico de San Valentín «El Diario de Bridget Jones».

I’ve crocheted this soft heart in amigurumi style with a bright red leftover wool from some Christmas balls. I’ve also make it with green wool and I’ve embellished it with a button. Here you can see it hanging from my bookshelf and next to a Valentine’s classic: «Bridget Jones Diary».

Aquí tenéis otro modelo más original realizado en dos texturas diferentes. Lo podéis adornar con cintas o botones. Queda muy bonito y se puede utilizar por ejemplo, para adornar tu bolso.

Here you can see another original pattern crocheted into two different textures. You can garnish it with ribbons or buttons. It’s lovely and you can use it, for example, to hang it in your handbag.

¿Os gustan? son muy fáciles y rápidos de hacer. Un detalle hecho por vosotros mismos para San Valentín…o para cualquier época del año, pero siempre hecho con mucho amor.

Do you like them? They are so easy and quick to do! A great detail done by yourselves for Valentine’s Day…or any time during the year, but always done with lots of love.

BAÑERAS/BATHS

Hola a todos,

Hello everybody,

Esta semana escribo con un poco de retraso y algo de cansancio, pues tengo a mi tía ingresada en el hospital. Espero que se recupere muy pronto y desde aquí le mando un beso muy fuerte.

This week I write with a little delay and some tiredness, because my auntie is in hospital. I hope she will soon be recovered and I send her a huge kiss.

Mi amiga Ana me pidió que le hiciera algo en punto de cruz en tonos verdes y azules para decorar su baño, y me decidí por estos dos clásicos diseños de bañeras que os hoy os muestro. Pertenecen a una serie de 6 bañeras antiguas con diferentes colores. Os adjunto también los gráficos.

My friend Ana asked me to make someting in cross stitch in blue and green shade s to decorate her bathroom, and I picked these two bath classic desings. I’ll show them to you.They belong to a six bath’s desing series in different colours, Here I also attach you the patterns.

Nos os olvidéis de pespuntear los motivos que decoran la bañera (flores, grifos, etc)y por supuesto de vuestra firma.

Don´t forget to sew with backstitch the items that decorate de bath such as flowers, taps, etc…and of course, please sign your work.
